I know that taking care of curly hair can be a difficult task. Believe it or not, I spent the first five years of my journey with my hair up in a ponytail and didn’t want to do anything with it because I couldn’t find anyone to help me with it. Because of that Curly & Elegant was created.
I want Curly & Elegant to provide you with the knowledge and the tools you need to reach your hair goals. Whether that is to grow, hydrate, thicken, heal, or have low-maintenance curls.
My goal is to be the stylist who can help you with the best haircuts, treatments, techniques, and tips to aid you in your hair journey.
I want you to feel confident and trust that you will obtain your desired results. Also, I will help you determine what you want to achieve with your hair and how you can get there. Finally, together we will find better ways of taking care of your hair in a way that fits your current lifestyle.
My name is Jeanette Almodovar, and I'm a licensed cosmetologist specializing in Curly Hair & Updos. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico until I was 20 years old, and later in 2014, I moved to Pennsylvania.
When I created Curly & Elegant, I was very anxious and had problems with my depression. My husband and I were entering a new stage in our lives. We had decided to live over the road (OTR) in a semi-truck.
At the time, I was learning to take better care of my hair, and also, I was helping others with their hair journeys. On May 1st, 2019 (a few months after going OTR), I created my Curly & Elegant Instagram Page.
After two years of being OTR, we decided to return home. There I took a step further and started cosmetology school. On February 2nd, 2022, I graduated and officially became a Licensed Cosmetologist. At first, I had difficulty finding my ideal salon (or home salon, as we stylists refer to it), but Bella & Company Salon found me! There, I'm growing as a stylist and becoming the best Curly Hair & Updo Stylist in the area.
I take pride in the customer service I deliver. I want you to feel comfortable, unique, and safe. As part of being a professional, it is of utmost importance to always be honest and open. Quality over quantity is my intent.
Every hair and journey is different and unique, which is why I reject the idea of a one-fits-all routine, product, or technique. To me, what works for you is determined by a combination of your lifestyle, pattern, density, porosity, the place you live, hair goals, and product application techniques.
The hair industry is constantly changing. New things are forming every day. That's why continuing education must be a priority for every stylist. And this will guarantee two things: Improvement in service quality and the satisfaction of every guest.
