1 tip for summer image

Summer Tip #1

  • Post category:Skin

Summer is a fabulous season! You are getting ready to travel, to go camping, to the beach, to the river, or perhaps to the amusement park. However, summer also represents a threat to us, specifically to our skin.

For this, I’m bringing the #1 tip for summer!

Summer is the season when the sun rays are the strongest, and our skin is more exposed. The worst hours to go out are from 10 am and 4 pm. But as you may already know.

Those are the hours when we go out the most!

That’s why contrary to many people, who suggest not going out between these two hours (which would be awesome), I would suggest something completely different.

As I have mentioned in previous posts, Sun (to be specific UV light) represents a threat to our skin and our well being. The reason to be persistent with this, is that skin cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in the U.S., and there are more than 9 k people diagnosed with it every day.

What do I recommend

We need to apply Sunscreen or Sunblock to our skin every two hours and daily.

Although there was released a recent study (which explains how certain chemicals from Sunscreen stay in our blood cells more time than expected), these chemicals aren’t a real threat. However, many studies expose the dangers that UV light represents to our skin. UV light not only will cause skin cancer with time, but also will destroy the reproductive ability of your cells and will accelerate your skin aging process.

*Note: Sunscreen will only protect you if it has an SPF of 30 or above.

As another essential fact, that you should be careful with is the type of sunscreen you apply if you go to the beach. There are two ingredients in the sunscreen that can harm coral reefs. These are oxybenzone and octinoxate. If you are going to the beach, please apply a sunscreen that is free of these two ingredients. Let’s be more eco-friendly with the products we use.

Conclusion

Without a doubt, you should avoid going out between 10 am and 4 pm, but if we are realistic, this is not an option for many of us. For this, I recommend to always carry with you your Sunscreen, and to apply it daily and every two hours. It is also essential to make sure you avoid direct contact with the Sunlight since you should always take preventive methods.

Also, I would like to add and remind you that Sunscreen is an essential product recommended for any skincare routine.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your day! Also, if you want to keep in touch with me, and see more great content like this, make sure to subscribe to my Email List and follow me on Instagram.
